Legislative Priorities 2025
Tennessee Families for Vaccines is dedicated to preserving and expanding access to safe and effective immunizations across the lifespan. We are monitoring a number of proposed bills in this legislative session and will help our advocates speak up in favor of or in opposition to these policies. If you’d like to join the pro-vaccine movement in Tennessee, get involved.
We support bills that:
Expand access to vaccines for all Tennesseans, ensuring availability for all Tennesseans.
Promote the importance and increase the use of prenatal and newborn vaccines.
Foster innovation in vaccine science, including the development of mRNA-based vaccines.
Protect Tennessee's most vulnerable populations—such as young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those who are immunocompromised.
Strengthen our ability to respond quickly and effectively to future disease outbreaks.
We oppose bills that:
Undermine public confidence in vaccine safety, increasing the risk of costly and preventable disease outbreaks.
Increase barriers to vaccine access, disproportionately harming vulnerable communities and undermining efforts to achieve widespread immunity.
Create an environment where our most vulnerable Tennesseans are at higher risk of infectious disease.
Erode trust in public health experts at the state, national, and global levels, disregarding their guidance when making crucial decisions about how to respond to public health threats.
Strip Tennesseans of their right to implement vaccine requirement policies designed to protect their students, employees, patients, or customers.
Mislead consumers about livestock vaccines and food safety.
